en orgue

Eight interpreters, eight women interacting with the institution represented by the church, its architecture, its spaces... These are the concept and theme of "en orgue"/"Capucines". In other words, DA MOTUS! explores here the feminity and its presence in a church.

The site specific project has been created at the Saint-Michel College Church in Fribourg (Switzerland) in the framework of the 20th Fribourg International Organ Festival and in coproduction with the Fribourg Organ Academy. The piece has then been adapted and performed under the title of "Capucines" for the church and cultural stage Les Capucins in Romont on 5-6 October 2018. 

The intention through this choice to work exclusively with female interpretes permits us to enhance the feminity in an institution that, since the dawn of time, has been seat of patriarchy, male domination and some kinds of misogyny.

Our three different site-specific choreographic pieces give us the opportunity to explore the inner spaces of the chruch. They are based on three themes choosed for the evening : « Armonia delle sfere », « Movimento ed estasi » and « Moto ostinato ».
